Help me fix this page!

This is a call for help! I changed some of the settings in the html so I could put another column in the page. I have so much I want to put up, but it would fit best in 3 columns. I have two main problems: I tried adding a column in the html but it wouldn't take it because it doesn't understand another type of float, like topmiddle. It only uses startSide and endSide. The other problem I have is I don't understand half of what I'm looking at. Could someone please help me out? I've tried a few sites online that help you along, but then I'm stuck at the startSide and endSide floats for the column placement. Does anyone understand what I'm talking about?

Oh the other thing I want to do is change the header so it stretches the width of the page setting, but again, don't understand the html lingo entirely.

Please help me!

I wish I could, but sadly I am not a computer expert. I usually start pushing buttons and end up making the problem worse. I will ask around though, and see if I can't figure something out for you. Good luck!

I suggest that anytime you are going to edit the html, first download your current template with the widgets so you can fall back to it if you mess up.

On the Edit HTML tab (which you are obviously familiar with), make sure to check the "Expand Widget Templates" box in the "Edit Template" section. Now, you can copy all the html from the Edit Template text area and save it some place safe so you can always go back to it (There is a link on the Edit HTML page to revert to classic template which I believe will totally blow away any changes you've ever made to the page except posts).

There are 3 column templates available on other sites. You can do a google search for "blogger 3 column templates." I think I may have seen yours somewhere, but I can't remember for sure. This site has several 3 column templates, many of which are 3 column versions of the traditional blogger templates.

Some blogger templates automatically stretch to fit the page - you'll have to experiment though because I don't know which off the top of my head.

I think your best bet is to take out the changes you made (hopefully you can remember) and then try a 3 column template to see if that will do the job.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I've seen the 3 column templates, but didn't like any as much as this one. That's me though, always trying to make things better than perfect. Thanks again for your help!

You must mean that you don't like the look of the other templates because they are not Rounders 4, which is the template that you are using.

Well, there is a 3 column version of the Rounders 4 template (I tracked it down). Here is a demo of the template for your viewing pleasure.

If you blow away your old template, replacing it with the 3 column one, you'll have to re-add all your widgets again.

One more note on the 3 column thing - don't go to crazy adding widgets because the more you add, the longer it will take your blog to load. You can always remove stuff if you notice (or someone tells you) it is taking too long to load the page. Just something to keep in mind.

Good luck with the switch, we look forward to seeing the fancied up version of your blog once it's posted.
